Welcome to our class page. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the wonderful things that the Year 4 children have been doing this term. Mrs Thompson
The Romans Autumn 1 2019
This term we have been looking at Invaders And settlers as our Year 4 Autumn topic. We have focused this half term, on the Romans and had great fun making our own helmets and using the art technique of mosaic to make some collage pictures of Roman soldiers. Please look at our pictures of the results!
4T's Roman Soldier Collages
Our class looked at Roman mosaics and then used different textured and coloured paper to make a collage, rather like a Roman mosaic pattern. We had great fun and they all turned out to be great pictures and everyone was interesting and different!
Year 4's trip to Chester and the Dewa Roman Experience
On Tuesday 22nd October, Year 4 went to Chester to the Dewa Roman Experience. We had such a great time and learnt so much about the Roman times.
First, a very fierce Roman soldier took us with our shields to train and learn the Testudo formation. Mrs Thompson and Mrs Lockyer tried to break through it with their swords but couldn't! We went to the amphitheatre next and learnt about gladiators. Mrs Thompson and Mrs Lockyer had a fight and as she lost, we voted that Mrs Thompson had to have her head chopped off! (She says she'll get her revenge for that next term!!)
After lunch, we had a guided tour around the museum where we saw and handled lots of artefacts. We looked at a Roman kitchen but decided not to try the fermented fish guts and porridge or the honey roasted mice! Later we were archeologists, dressed up as Romans and sat on the Roman toilets and saw the poo stick!
What a great day - we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

Year 4's Ukulele Concert
On Monday 23rd January, after only 15 weeks of learning the ukulele, Year 4 put on an amazing concert for their friends and family. Lots of lovely songs were sang, accompanied by almost 50 ukuleles! It was fabulous to see and hear and everyone enjoyed it. Please look at our photos to see Year 4 in action...
