Mrs Thompson's Year 4 Class

Welcome to our class page.  We hope you enjoy seeing some of the wonderful things that the Year 4 children have been doing this term.  Mrs Thompson
Year 4 did a school assembly all about Harvest Festival. They sang songs, did readings and showed pictures about why this time of year is special and why it is so important to share what we have with others. Everyone did a great job and read with loud voices and lots of confidence. Everyone enjoyed their assembly!

4T learn to dance Bollywood!

4T had great fun learning to dance a Bollywood routine. They did really well learning the different moves and putting on a show to their classmates at the end.

Derby Faith Trail Visit

4T visited the Derby faith Trail and visited a mosque. They learnt about the Arabic alphabet and the Jewish faith too.
Year 4 have been looking at the River Wye and Buxton. We visited Poole's Cavern to look at how the River Wye created it and the amazing limestone.

Year Four's trip to Poole's Cavern

This term at our school year 4 travelled back 2000 years to ancient Roman times...
Our trip to the Dewa Roman Experience.
First we went to the Roman Museum in Chester. We dressed up as Roman soldiers and marched around the city to the Roman amphitheatre. Mrs Lockyer  and Mr Barlow were gladiators and had a sword fight!! Mrs Lockyer had her head chopped off as we shouted, "Jugular!"
While we marched we chanted "sin, sin, sin, dex, sin" in Latin, which means "left, left, left, right, left" in English. We also made a Roman formation called the tortoise or 'testudo' in Roman. On the order we had to move our shields extremely fast to avoid being killed!
We had a fantastic day as Romans.
