World Book Day 2020 in 4P

4P looked fantastic in their costumes for World Book day and had a great time designing and playing a board game they had made for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I also had the chance to play some of the games and they were fantastic and very creative!

Poetry with Andy Tooze

4P had the fantastic opportunity to work with local poet Andy Tooze and illustrator Martin Olsen. Children got the chance to hear some poetry as well as create their own. The poetry all being based on our topic this term of rural and urban areas. They were also shown some top drawing tips and were able to draw some great pictures to go with their work.

Year 4 Ukulele Concert

On Monday 23rd January, after only 15 weeks of learning the ukulele, Year 4 put on an amazing concert for their friends and family. Lots of lovely songs were sang, accompanied by almost 50 ukuleles! It was fabulous to see and hear and everyone enjoyed it. Please look at our photos to see year 4 in action ...

ROMAN PUPPET SHOW AND ACTIVITIES

4P went to Buxton Museum recently to watch a puppet show about Porto, a Roman soldier from Portugal.  Children really enjoyed this and progressed their learning even further in our topic of the Romans.  The children also took part in some activities such as mending broken pottery, competing in a 'knucklebones' tournament, a Roman numeral challenge and making brooches to be sold at market.

DEWA ROMAN EXPERIENCE CHESTER

The Dewa Roman Experience is situated within the fortress walls of Chester. 4P had a great time experiencing what life was like in Roman times and finding out about the weapons and armour Roman soldiers would use.

European Languages Day 2019

As part of European Languages Day,  Years 3 and 4 children had the chance to experience some French culture for the day! They tried some French dancing, completed some French craft and took part in a game of French boules. Here are some photos of 4P taking part and enjoying themselves.
